Our daughter Nora was born at 27 weeks gestation, weighing only 1 pound, 11 ounces! She developed an infected blood clot in her heart while in the NICU and the synopsis of the story is the blood clot caused a bilateral brain bleed and she now has a Cerebral Palsy diagnosis.(You can watch her current therapy story here on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCneaBdfXKU)

Today, Nora is so much more than the doctors ever said she’d be. She’s incredibly smart, sweet, determined, and oh so cute. Her sense of humor is one of the best things about her, and the smile she has to go along with it makes it that much better. It’s almost impossible to believe the doctors told us to consider palliative care and to say our goodbyes when she was just a baby BUT NOW, here we are asking for any blessings to help her WALK and THRIVE! How incredible is that?
Our goal is to raise enough money to fund Nora an opportunity to attend a 4 week intensive therapy program in Madison, WI. Nora cannot walk, sit, or stand independently but we believe with her determination and our commitment to helping her, she could do all those things. Intensive therapy programs have shown to have major benefits in advancing mobility and overall body strength. However, most programs don’t accept major insurances or Medicaid and all expenses come out of pocket. Not to mention the cost of travel, lodging, and daily life expenditures while on site and back home. It’s daunting for us to even consider, but we believe this opportunity is one that we can’t pass up for Nora. So here we are, thanking you for reading our story and considering to support our family’s dream for our daughter. You’re the best! — Matt, Melissa, Nora & Haisley Knake
