Abby's Long-Term Mission Work | YWAM
My name is Abby, and I am a full-time missionary with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Redding, California, focused on ministry to the 10/40 window and Muslim world. All staff in YWAM are required to raise their own support, in other words, YWAM does not pay me. It is through generous donors and partners that I am able to do what I do!
I have a goal of raising 1,000 dollars every month in order to cover the cost of living while working with YWAM, and to cover future overseas outreach and cross-cultural mission work. I am currently building a team of monthly partners who want to be a part of what God is doing in the nations, but in the mean time, I am fund-raising for one-time donations to help me reach upcoming payment deadlines over the next three months.
Thank you so much for considering partnering with me! Please do read my full story below.

When I was 14 years old, God told me I was going to be a missionary. I didn’t know what that would look like or what it would entail, but I held onto that word for 6 years. I have never been okay with there being people on the earth who do not know him, let alone heard of Him!
In 2016, I embarked on an outreach to India, and my heart fell in love with the people. There are so many languages, so many religions, so many unreached people groups, but there was a hunger for Jesus.
In January of 2017, I hopped on a plane to Northern California to join YWAM Redding’s Discipleship Training School I had no idea what I was getting myself into, and my life has not been the same since. I encountered the Lord like never before and was sent out for two months to minister in Turkey. In a country consisting of 99% Muslims, my heart for the Muslim world grew.
I came back to YWAM after my Discipleship Training School to be trained and better equipped to thrive in missions long-term, because I knew this is what I wanted to do with my life.
I did the School of Islamic Studies, where I learned everything you could think of about Islam, as well as apologetic and evangelistic tools. There was so much to learn, and after the school ended I wanted to continue studying the Qur’an and Islam in my free time. But the Lord spoke to me and told me that my Biblical foundation needed to be stronger before I devoted my time to another religion. He called me into a season of studying his Word and being rooted and grounded in it.
I spent three months in the School of Biblical Studies, an intensive inductive study of the New Testament. It was the most intense school I have done, and it was a lot of work, spending 9+ hours in the word every day, but it was so rewarding. I gained rich revelation and a love for the word that I can’t describe.
Following this, I joined staff with YWAM Redding, committing to the base for at least 2 years. I will be working with a team to pioneer a new Bible school and curriculum, growing in my tools and leadership skills, discipling students, and participating in outreaches.
My long term goal is to be planted long-term overseas doing full time ministry among people who have never had the chance to hear the Gospel or know Jesus. God has also given me a burning desire to see the Gospel ride nations of social injustice and to be a part of seeing women set free from physical and spiritual enslavement. I am so excited for where the Lord is taking me, but I choose to focus on the season that I am in and continually wait on the Lord.
