Chuck Hallier Memorial

Chuck Hallier Memorial

The Mount Vernon Archery family suffered a great loss with the passing of Chuck Hallier, Saturday 12/7/19. Until May 2019, Chuck was the President/Coach, Chris the Treasurer, Ultimate Team Organizer, and “Mom”, and their son Collin was an archer from the inception of the club in 2011. Chuck had a gift in working with our archers, was a mentor to many of our coaches, and competing coaches and archers. He had a way of making each and every archer feel special.

We were blessed to have had Chuck in our lives and have designed t-shirts and established a fundraiser. The purchase of a t-shirt will not only be a great memory of Chuck and how his life impacted MVArchery but proceeds of the fundraiser will go to the charity of Chris, Collin, and siblings’ choice. They are in the process of establishing an Annual Chuck Hallier Memorial Archery scholarship fund with the Iowa DNR. The scholarship would go to a High School Senior who participates in the Iowa NASP Archery Program.

Chuck’s family and friends including our archers shared how Chuck ALWAYS encouraged them and others to “BE GOOD”. Chuck embodied teaching other many things especially general courtesies of Please and Thank You. He taught that it was important to plan ahead for more than oneself, “Think Selfless”. Finally you could always count on Chuck to tell you how he saw the situation, “Shoot Straight”. We are honored to share in carrying on Coach Hallier’s commitment to children learning amazing life skills through Archery.
