Adnan Syed Legal Defense Fund
Adnan Syed’s story became known worldwide through the 2014 hit podcast “Serial”, but Adnan’s loved ones have been fighting for his freedom since he was wrongfully arrested and convicted of murder at the age of 17 in 1999.
Adnan’s conviction was overturned by two courts in 2016 and 2017, but in 2019 the Maryland supreme court reinstated his conviction, denying him a new trial. Now, we face a new appellate fight, which may take many more years.
Adnan will turn 40 this year, still in prison, an innocent man serving a life sentence. This injustice has cost his life and hundreds of thousands of dollars. In order to keep fighting the legal battle, we are relaunching fundraising efforts.
