COVID-19 Disaster Response Fund For Linn County
Start: May 7, 2020 - End: Jul 15, 2020
As COVID-19 continues to evolve and cases continue to grow in Linn County, we are increasingly aware of the impact this pandemic is having on vulnerable people including low-income families, older adults, and the homeless population. As schools and businesses have closed, there is a growing and immediate need for food, housing and shelter, medical support, legal support and more. This is placing enormous stress on local nonprofits.
In mid-March, the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation established the COVID-19 Disaster Response Fund to provide rapid response grants to nonprofits meeting the critical needs of our communities. Grants are being allocated where they are most needed. The list of grants made so far can be found here.
The Community Foundation is proud to partner with deNovo, a full-service marketing agency that developed the Spread Love Not Viruses concept, to help support nonprofits in Linn County to make sure the needs of people are being met, and to spread a message of positive support and safety to the area.
