ADOPTION ROCKS-HAITI LOVE

Sometimes God calls us to do crazy things…here I am a single momma of two kiddos, living in Haiti and trying to go through the adoption process. I love Haiti and it’s people but sometimes doing life in Haiti can be emotionally and physically exhausting. None the less I wouldn’t change this journey that I am on for anything!

Embrace the Journey

So often we have a plan, a destination, an end goal. We often strive and long to get to a certain point that we are so focused on the end, but what about everything that happens from that first step until the end. What about everything in between? What about the JOURNEY?

What about everything that God is bring us through and teaching us about on this JOURNEY….what about all the people that God brings into our lives on this JOURNEY….what about the ways GOD is using our JOURNEY…

I’ve been on this JOURNEY for a while. Almost 5 years actually. I’ve struggle through parts of this JOURNEY but I’ve been filled with more love than I could have ever imagined. There have been days where I have longed for this journey to be over. But at the same time when I think about this adoption JOURNEY being over, it makes me sad. (Don’t get me wrong there is always a huge part of me that is so excited as well!)

As I reflect back on this JOURNEY and all the lives I have encountered, all the times GOD has been faithful (which has been numerous), all the relationships I’ve been blessed with, all the things I’ve learned about myself, and all that GOD is doing–I am thankful for this JOURNEY. I am thankful that GOD has been faithful every step of the way. Thankful that HE is in control of every part of this JOURNEY.

My life has been forever changed on this adoption JOURNEY, not just because of these two beautiful children but because of this JOURNEY. Because everything that is and will happen from the beginning to the end.

We all have a JOURNEY. Can I encourage you to EMBRACE that JOURNEY today. Even if it just for today. Embrace the JOURNEY that GOD has called you on whatever yours looks like.

Take the time to pause and look at the beauty GOD is creating on this JOURNEY of yours. Because it is there, you just might need to take the time to be present and appreciate it.

Be blessed today.

Big brother love..

This little girl loves her big brother!! She will sit and stare and laugh at him all day long!! Click below to see! 🙂

Who we are!

A momma of two beautiful Haitian children! I, Jessica, first came to Haiti in 2010 shortly after the devastating earthquake. I fell in love with the Haitian people and the country. I continued to come on short term mission trips and in 2012 I moved to Haiti and volunteered at an orphanage.

It was there that I fell in love with my oldest son. Lovinsky was at the orphanage and over my time there we had a special bond. In the fall of 2014 I was granted guardianship of him and we were able to move out of the orphanage and start our own little family! What a joy it was it finally be a little family.

In the fall of 2015 Lovinsky kept asking for a little brother or sister. I told him I wasn’t going to be having a baby anytime soon and he better keep praying for a little brother or sister! Well I guess its proof that God has a sense of humor! He gave us exactly what Lovinsky had praying for; a sweet and precious little sister!

Lydia joined our family in the fall of 2015 and I was granted guardianship of her in January 2016.

It seemed that our little family was just perfect. We couldn’t imagine our lives without her!

So here we are a little family of 3 working towards the adoption process and living in Haiti. I never would have imagined myself living in Haiti and going through this adoption process by myself but it has honestly been the most amazing (and sometimes frustrating) journey. The fact that I get to be with my little kiddos everyday is absolutely worth it!
