Mental Health Awareness - Foundation 2
Start: Mar 4, 2021 - End: May 3, 2021
My name is Ellie Barkalow and I recently lost my father to suicide. With it also being winter and the time of Covid, it has been very tough to deal with this loss. This time of year is hard for anyone going through troubles with mental health, especially depression. Seasonal depression is currently happening and it affects so many people around the world of all age groups.
I know now how it feels to go through so much pain because of the loss of a loved one. And I vowed to myself to never let anyone else suffering from any problem go unhelped. Everyone deserves someone to talk to about their mental health.
My friend, Ashlee Elliott, reached out to me with the idea of creating this t-shirt fund and I thought it was a great idea to help raise awareness. Mental health is not something that should be put aside and we wanted to be able to bring more awareness in an area where so many people might be afraid to get help or just can’t.
Our goal is to raise $1000 to donate to Foundation 2. Foundation 2 is a non-profit crisis agency and has many hotlines to call for all emergencies. They came out the night my family needed them and they really helped my mom and I a lot. I wanted to give back by donating this money to them. Starting in March and ending in May, which is Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to raise as much as we can and $1000 would be amazing. Foundation 2 would use this donation to continue to help others in need. You can help us make a difference and end the stigma behind mental health issues by supporting this fund. Thank you so much to all those who wish to help!
Your help is greatly appreciated,
