Miraculous Expectations Campaign
Start: Apr 17, 2019 - End: Jun 7, 2019
Create a High School in Harrisburg, Liberia
In January 2019, I traveled to Harrisburg, Liberia with Farmer to Farmer. This mission of the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church has been making a significant impact in the lives of persons living in Harrisburg since a container filled with agricultural equipment and supplies was sent in 2010.
Since that time Volunteer In Mission teams have joined with local residents to assist in revitalizing the community. Currently Reverends Ray and Cathy Ake are spending a year in Harrisburg as volunteers to give energy and leadership to our Farmer to Farmer programs.
We all know the excitement that can come when people begin to see how their lives and the lives of family members and neighbors can be improved. In Harrisburg, under the direction of the Liberian Farmer to Farmer Board, numerous individuals are participating in the various life changing programs that Farmer to Farmer has initiated.
Land has been cleared for a demonstration farm and a variety of plants have been planted. A poultry building has been erected and soon there will be chickens and eggs for sale. Sewing machines have been donated and trained sewers are making school uniforms for sale.
Now a NEW HOPE is present. Farmer to Farmer will assist in building a high school. At this time formal education ends at the 9th grade. The nearest high school is 30 miles away and there is no transportation. The new high school will feature agricultural training but will also prepare those who wish to pursue a college career.
Won’t you consider joining this life-changing project? Farmer to Farmer is looking to raise $100,000 for this project and my personal goal is $5,000. Donations may be made here online … or if you prefer to mail a check, send to:
