National Resilience Institute

NRI started as a community resiliency project in Mount Vernon, Iowa after the loss of three teens to suicide. As other communities from across the country reached out for help, we formed a nonprofit org to create and gather tools to “help the helpers” working in their communities to strengthen others.   Over the past 6 years, with over $2.5 million in volunteer hours donated to our efforts, we have accomplished great things, from free local trainings to 6 national Resilience Summits. By donating to our One Mission Scholarship Fund, YOU support free and low-cost education like:

  • Resiliency Matters TV shows that deliver tools directly to viewers;
  • Local resilience education (Next up: May 22, 2019 Summit and July 1, 2019 Leadership Resilience Training);
  • Evidence-informed resilience training for community, school, and veteran organizations;
  • Scholarships for teachers, counselors, and service providers to attend our annual Summit with nationally renowned resilience researchers and educators; and
  • Designing resilience building activities for local schools.

While doing guiding national and global resilience building initiatives, we use our One Mission fund for local Iowa based education and programming. Our nimble nonprofit makes a small investment go a LONG way toward helping those who work locally to strengthen and save lives. Truly, no donation is too small. And check out ALL the cool One Mission gear — perfect for treating yourself or gifting to others! Thank you for your support!! #YouMatterWeNeedYou
