Rise Up Central Wisconsin, Inc.
Start: Apr 22, 2019 - End: Oct 3, 2019
RISE UP is about people coming together and transforming not only a piece of art, but themselves and our community. As a non-profit group, the RISE UP team has been organizing since early 2017, planning, meeting, and connecting with diverse groups across the country to create a program tailored to Central Wisconsin. RISE UP works closely with communities to uplift public art as an expression of community resilience and a vehicle of community and personal healing.
Our program strives to:
- Catalyze positive changes in the community
- Improve the physical environment Create opportunities for social connectedness
- Develop skills to enhance resilience and recovery
- Promote community and social inclusion
And now we have some very exciting news for RISE UP and the community of Wausau!
Planning and preparations are under way for our 80ft x 40ft mural on Wausau’s Frontier building overlooking the 400 block! After a year in planning and workshops with participants in the Lakeside Recovery program at North Central Health Care, we are taking the next steps to tell the story of addiction and the hope for recovery to the community, but we need your help!
RISE UP has been fortunate to have the financial support of Aspirus Community Benefit, The Community Foundation, Peoples Bank and the B.A. and Esther Greenheck Foundation. However, we need the support of the entire community to continue on the path of making this mural a reality.
You can sponsor a square foot of the mural for just $30 or pay for an entire 5ft x 5ft panel for $500. Your name will be included among those who support the mural, and a print of the mural will be provided to you once the mural is complete.
Please consider donating to this project – every little bit helps!

Look for us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for an upcoming event featuring RISE UP artists, a mock-up of the mural and a chance to sponsor a portion of the mural in person!
Together we can help to heal, strengthen and unify our community!
