WETAP

Usually in the fall our WETAP (Washington Elementary Teachers and Parents) group organizes a fundraising school wide walk with the kids’ help. WE WALK is an energetic way to get the community together and the kids have a lot of fun being a part of it. The students enjoy earning rewards and competing by classroom to return the most folders the quickest and raise money for their loved teachers.

We are keeping our fingers crossed we will be able to have WE WALK this spring when we can all come together but until then we want to ensure the safety of community and obviously we have limited options to do so in group settings.

We hope with the help of Mount Vernon’s One Mission and some online shopping from you we can hopefully have a way to successfully keep the needs of our teachers and students met until we can get everyone together for a live event such as WE WALK.

With your help, 40% of your purchase goes directly to WETAP and into teacher/classroom/whole-grade requests, family events, student learning tools, and teacher appreciation gifts/meals.  Not only will you be supporting our school but one of our very own special local businesses in Mount Vernon.

WE are little, but WE are strong and WE will get through this!  Our kids are learning through us everyday and let us stay positive for them through these challenging times.

WETAP loves our teachers and students and would like to invite anyone that has a student at Washington Elementary to join us at our monthly meetings held every first Monday of the month in the art room at 6:30pm. Child care is provided.
